“Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products”

I read Hooked by Nir Eyal last week. It’s a brilliant book on how to build engaging products or services. I loved the crisp extraction of the huge amount of research done on the topics of triggers, motivators and rewards. It has been very nicely applied to the context of the many engaging and even addictive apps we use today. There’s also a chapter dedicated to the ethics of building engaging apps, and where to draw the line between engaging and addictive. “Must read” for building any new products or re-looking at existing products that don’t get repeat users.
